RockHard Excavating is a civil construction and excavation contractor based in Kelowna, working subdivision-scale projects across the Okanagan. We're hiring an experienced Civil Construction Pipe Layer to install sanitary, storm and water mainlines, services, and shallow utility conduits on real civil infrastructure work.

Our crews installed the sanitary, storm, and water main systems on the Cara Glen and Glen Park subdivision projects, the kind of scale most excavation outfits never get called for. This role works alongside the Foreman, leading the crew to install those systems efficiently and correctly.
What the Day Actually Looks Like
With the Crew
- Working alongside the Foreman on sanitary, storm and water mainline installs
- Leading and training labourers as required
- Installing services and shallow utility conduits as part of a team
On Your Own
- Independent work on residential and commercial excavation projects
- Running your own section of an install without needing direction
- Moving between tasks as the site requires
What You Need
Required
2+ years experience in the civil construction industry Ability to work alongside the Foreman and lead the crew installing sanitary, storm and water mainlines, services and shallow utility conduits Ability to work both independently and as part of a crew Ability to lead and train labourers Valid driver's license and your own vehicleAn Asset, Not Required
Experience running heavy equipment Foundation excavation and road construction experience Experience with Topcon GPS & Pocket 3D Ability to read and interpret civil and foundation drawings Knowledge of MMCD specifications Raceway ticket, Confined Space ticket, and First Aid ticketPay & Schedule
- $28.00 – $38.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience level
- Full-time, permanent position
